Information
One of the rarest Elvis suits is the Black Brocade, which was made in two versions: one featuring gold trim and the other showcasing a green floral and red unicorn motif. The black brocade suit with red trim is a jumpsuit adorned with a distinctive design on the lapels and collar. This trim features red unicorns and plants with red and white flowers. The lapel trims are symmetrical rather than mirrored, and the same design is echoed in the high collar.
As rare as this suit is, it is believed that Elvis wore it during his January and February Vegas stint in 1970. So far, only one photo of him in the suit has surfaced. It is also possible that he wore this suit during his August / September 1970 Vegas engagement, as he made comments during a concert about wearing a black suit. However, it is unclear which of the two brocade versions he was referring to.

Accessories
A black macrame with red beads belt adorned this suit. The red beads, presumably made of plastic, are centered to form a red oval with a black design in the middle. Three to four inches from the center on each side, the red beads create a half-circle design. The hanging fringes also feature some of these red beads.
According to Edvarsen and Larsen (2011) "Black Brocade Suit& Red Trim", "Black & Red Brocade Suit" or "Black Multicolor Suit" is today on display at Graceland without the belt that was sold at the Jimmy Velvet auction in June 19th 1994, and probably still is in private hands." (p.53).
According to the EP Mobile Museum website, the belt is still owned by Jeremy "Elvis" Pearce (2024).
